Yongyi Zhu, M.D. received his medical degree from Shanghai Medical University in China. He completed a surgery internship at Nassau County Medical Center in Long Island, New York. He then went on to complete anesthesiology residency and pain management fellowship training at University of Cincinnati, Ohio. Before joining the WA Center for Pain Management, he was an attending physician at multidisciplinary Pain Clinic at University of Washington Medical Center for years.
At UW Medicine Pain Clinic, he not only provided comprehensive pain evaluation and treatment for different pain patients, but also was involved in teaching the pain management fellows who wish to specialize in the management of pain at the postgraduate level. Dr. Zhu’s primary goal of pain management is to relieve patient’s pain, restore function and improve the quality of life for people suffering with chronic pain. He believes that effective pain management should be a multidisciplinary approach.
